LIPA advances peace objectives through policy advocacy, coalition-building and education.
From the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025, geopolitical developments in the Middle East and shifting dynamics in Lebanon and Israel created a window of opportunity for peace. At this time, a very small group of people saw this opportunity and sought to make the case for it. Along the way, LIPA’s co-founders and advisors decided an organization was needed that could advocate for U.S. policies, bring together partners and friends in the effort, and inform the public.
Once the group agreed on the name of the organization – a name that clearly states our mission – it was registered in March 2026, shortly after Hezbollah launched its latest war against Israel. LIPA was publicly announced one month later, during the first round of Lebanon-Israel peace talks in Washington, D.C. in April. Since then, the alliance in favor of peace between Lebanon and Israel continues to grow.
